Korea Transit Guide: Your Easy Ride Around Korea ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท

Getting around Korea is super easy — and yes, affordable too! Whether you're heading to the hottest spots in Seoul or planning a day trip to Busan, here’s your go-to guide for smooth, stress-free travel.

Must-Have: T-money Card

Grab a T-money card at any convenience store or station. It works for subways, buses, and even some taxis. Just tap and ride — no need to buy single tickets every time.

Subway

Clean, fast, and super organized. The subway is the #1 way to get around major cities like Seoul, Busan, and Daegu. Most stations have signs in English, and apps like KakaoMetro or Naver Map make transfers a breeze.

Buses

Local buses take you anywhere the subway can’t. Color-coded by route type (blue, green, red), they run frequently and are great for short trips. Just tap your T-money card and go!

Taxis & Apps

Taxis are easy to find and relatively cheap, especially when shared. Use apps like Kakao T to call a cab, see the fare, and even pay without cash.

Transfers are FREE (or super cheap)

If you use a T-money card. You can switch between subways and buses — or even different buses — without paying extra within a certain time limit (usually 30 minutes).

  • Tap your T-money card when you get on AND off.

  • Transfers work up to 4 times between bus and subway.

  • Just don’t take too long — there's a time limit for free transfers!

Must-Have Apps in Korea

KakaoMap / Naver Map

Google Maps? Not here. These two are your go-to apps for accurate directions, real-time transit info, and finding literally anything in Korea — cafés, buses, toilets, you name it.

T-money App
Track your transit card balance, recharge on the go, and check your ride history. Super helpful if you’re always hopping on buses or subways.

Call 120 (Dasan Call Center)
Lost? Confused? Need help in English? Call 120 (or use the app) for 24/7 assistance from friendly operators — they can even help you talk to taxi drivers.
