2. Eligibility


To be eligible for admission as an international student to SeoulTech's graduate programs, you need to meet the following criteria: 


1. Nationality:

  • Common: Both the applicant and their parents must not hold Korean citizenship.
  • Graduate: Non-Korean citizens holding a Bachelor's degree or higher are eligible to apply (Master's/Combined: expected Bachelor's degree, Doctoral: expected Master's degree).

2. Level of Education:

  • Master's/Combined: Must hold (or expect to hold) a Bachelor's degree.
  • Doctoral: Must hold (or expect to hold) a Master's degree.

3. Language Proficiency:

  • Common: Must meet one of the following: TOPIK Level 3+, TOPIK iBT 3+, SLPT Level 4+, IEQAS Level 4+, completion of intermediate Level 2+ at a Korean university-affiliated language institute, or completion of the intermediate level at King Sejong Institute.
  • Exceptions:
    • Applicants to Safety Engineering, Data Science, Industrial Design, Visual Design, Ceramic Arts&Design, Design, TESOL, AI Application, AI Convergence, AI and Public Policy, Intelligent Industrial System, Media & Contents, and IT Design Convergence must meet the common Korean language proficiency requirement.
    • International applicants to the Department of AI Business who graduated from an English-taught program are exempt from the language requirement.
    • Applicants to the Department of Global Entrepreneurship and Venture, and the Department of Digital Culture Policy must have TOPIK Level 6 or higher.

The admission process follows the steps outlined in the table below.

4. Admission Timeline 


We offer two admission intakes per year for the graduate course—one for the Spring semester (with applications starting in September) and one for the Fall semester (with applications starting in March). Exact dates may vary slightly each year.


2025 Fall Semester


1. Online Application & Application Fee Payment

  • Online Application: Available from Tuesday, April 1, 2025, to Monday, April 28, 2025, 18:00 (KST).
  • Application Fee Payment: Must be completed within the same period as the online application.

2. Document Submission & Interview

  • Documents Submission: Must be completed by Wednesday, April 30, 2025, 17:00 (KST).
  • Interview: Scheduled for early June, 2025.

3. Admission Decision Announcement & Registration

  • Announcement of Admissions Decision: Mid-June, 2025.
  • Tuition Payment: Must be completed within the designated period after the admission decision is announced.
  • Certificate of Admission Issuance: Issued after tuition payment is confirmed.

5. Documents


Kindly refer to the detailed document submission guidelines provided below. Any documents not written in Korean or English must be accompanied by a notarized translation.


  1. Application Documents Checklist
  2. Application Form : Submit printed copy after online application.
  3. Personal Statement and Study Plan : For graduate applicants only.
  4. Financial Certification : By applicant, parents, or academic advisor (graduate). Scholarship holders can submit sponsor's documents.
  5. Certificate of Bank Deposits (Minimum ₩20,000,000): Specific validity for undergraduate rounds. Bank statements/copies not accepted. Non-KRW must exceed ₩20,000,000 equivalent. Scholarship holders need financial support confirmation. Advisors sponsoring must submit Form 4.
  6. Agreement of Verification of Academic Records : Mandatory. Korean high school graduates exempt.
  7. Academic Certificates (Apostilled or Consular Confirmed Original):
    Master's/Combined: Bachelor's (expected) degree certificate.
    Doctoral: Master's (expected) degree certificate. (Refer to country-specific instructions).
  8. Official Yearly Transcript (High School/Undergraduate) (Apostilled or Consular Confirmed Original): Must be apostilled or consular confirmed in Korean or English.
  9. Transcript converted to GPA scale (Copy, if applicable): If transcript lacks specific GPA scale (4.0/4.3/4.5/5.0/100), convert to one and submit (refer to Scholaro.com or Wes.org).
  10. Language Proficiency Report(Copy):
    • (Korean): TOPIK Level 3+, TOPIK iBT 3+, SEoulTech Korean Language Test Level 4+(expected), IEQAS Korean Language Assessment Level 4+(expected), completion of intermediate Level 2+ at a Korean university language institute, or completion of intermediate level at King Sejong Institute.
    • (English): TOEFL iBT 80+ or IELTS Band 6.0+. Ensure validity at application date.
  11. Certificate of Enrollment in Korean Language Course (Copy, if applicable): For applicants currently enrolled in a Korean language course in Korea.
  12. Alien Registration Card Copy (if applicable): For international applicants residing in Korea.
  13. Applicant & Parents' Passport Copies OR Nationality Proof (Original, Notarized Translation): Parents' passport copies mandatory. If unavailable, submit nationality proof with notarized Korean/English translation. Divorce/deceased parents require related documents.
  14. Official Parent-Child Relationship Document (Original, Notarized Translation): Birth certificate, Household Register, or Family Relation Certificate with notarized Korean/English translation. (For Chinese citizens: notarized Kinship Certificate and Household Register). Single-parent applicants submit Confirmation of Single-Parent (Form 6).
  15. Supplementary Documents (Optional, Notarized Original): Awards, standardized test scores, foreign language proficiency, certificates/licenses, etc.
  16. Additional Materials (USB): Art & Design applicants: PDF portfolio (10+ high-definition pages with subject, year, materials, size).

Note: All documents must be original. Documents not in Korean or English require a notarized translation. Refer to the admission guidelines for detailed information.

Graduate tuition fees differ by school type (general vs. professional), degree level (Master's or Doctoral), and academic major (Engineering/Science, Humanities/Social Sciences, Art/Design). Professional graduate schools have distinct tuition structures based on their focus.

6. Scholarship


The provided table details two international student scholarships offered by Seoul National University of Science and Technology (SeoulTech): A. SeoulTech International Student Scholarship and B. SeoulTech Alliance Scholarship. 


A. SeoulTech International Student Scholarship:

  • 1st Semester:
    • Requirement: All freshmen (based on academic achievements, language scores, etc.)
    • Benefits: 50 to 100% of tuition fee (average varies by department; Department of IT Engineering: 85% on average)
  • During Semesters:
    • Requirement: 6 or more credits in the previous semester, a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and no courses graded below C0.
    • Benefits: The same percentage of tuition fee reduction as received in the 1st semester.
    • Duration: Master's: 4 semesters + 1 extra semester (max), Doctoral: 4 semesters + 2 extra semesters (max), Combined: 8 semesters + 2 extra semesters (max). Extra semester support is not available for those who cannot complete or graduate on time. Scholarship criteria can be changed according to revised guidelines (semester 기준 for Combined program: 5~7 semesters).

B. SeoulTech Alliance Scholarship:

  • 1st Semester:
    • Requirement: Bachelor's degree or higher from selected international partner universities.
    • Benefits: Full tuition and full boarding (for the first year).
  • During Semesters:
    • Requirement: 6 or more credits in the previous semester, a GPA of 3.5 or higher, and no courses graded below C0.
    • Benefits: Full tuition.
    • Duration: Master's: 4 semesters + 1 extra semester (max), Doctoral: 4 semesters + 2 extra semesters (max), Combined: 8 semesters + 2 extra semesters (max). Scholarship criteria can be changed according to revised guidelines (semester 기준 for Combined program: 5~7 semesters).
